Platform MaterialDigital launches new event series ‘PMD Tools and Services Walkthroughs’ in 2026

The Platform MaterialDigital (PMD) is launching a new, regular event series in 2026 entitled ‘PMD Tools and Services Walkthroughs’. The aim of the series is to present the platform’s key tools, services and methods in a practical way and to discuss them with the community.

The first session will kick off on 11 February 2026 with the topic:

FAIR Workflows & Workflow Management

This session will demonstrate how workflows can be designed, used and managed in the context of the MaterialDigital initiative FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). Participants will gain insight into tools, best practices and application scenarios from current projects.

The next event in the series on 18 February 2026 will be dedicated to the topic:

Semantic Interoperability & Use of the PMD Core Ontology (PMDco)

The focus here will be on how semantic methods are used within the platform to make data interoperable and to make model-based research data more efficient to use.

The events will take place via Microsoft Teams, and registration is required.

Information on registration can be found on the event page of the MaterialDigital platform: https://material-digital.de/event/

Further dates and topics will follow in the course of 2026.
