Chemicals (this includes <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_b9e9395286233f41aea957abe9492004\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">nanomaterials<\/span>) are subject to the Chemicals Act, and the safety and health protection of employees at the workplace is subject to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In addition, since 1<sup>st<\/sup> July 2008 the European chemicals legislation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reach-clp-biozid-helpdesk.de\/EN\/Home\/Home_node.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">REACH<\/a>&#xA0;has provided a framework for the registration of nanomaterials. Research projects are being carried out to determine whether there is a need for specific action.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Since 2013, nanomaterials must be labelled in cosmetic products. From EU Regulation No. 1223\/2009: &#x201C;<em>All components in the form of nanomaterials must be clearly listed in the list of components. <em>The designation of such ingredients must be followed by the word &#x201C;nano&#x201D; in brackets<\/em>.&#x201D;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Since 13.12.2014, this also applies to the food industry: From EU Regulation No. 1169\/2011: &#x201C;<em>All ingredients present in the form of technically produced nanomaterials must be clearly listed in the list of ingredients.
