Tian et al. used four-dimensional transmission <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_a74c6713fadb34aeb69a3b129cc810cf\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">electron microscopy<\/span> to study the mechanism behind nanograin rotation in a platinum thin film. The authors identified a primary mechanism for rotation, along with a correlation between rotation and grain growth or shrinkage.
