{"id":28151,"date":"2025-06-30T09:00:22","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T07:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/materialneutral.info\/?p=28151"},"modified":"2025-06-27T09:42:46","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T07:42:46","slug":"nano-risk-governance-portal-supporting-risk-governance-of-nanomaterials-and-nano-enabled-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/materialneutral.info\/en\/nano-risk-governance-portal-supporting-risk-governance-of-nanomaterials-and-nano-enabled-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Nano Risk Governance Portal supporting risk governance of nanomaterials and nano-enabled products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <em>Horizon 2020<\/em> Programme of the European Union funded three research projects to enhance risk governance (RG) of <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_b9e9395286233f41aea957abe9492004\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">nanomaterials<\/span> (NMs) and nano-enabled products: <em>Gov4Nano<\/em>, <em>NANORIGO<\/em>, and <em>RISKGONE<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>These projects aimed to establish a digital Nano Risk Governance Portal (NRGP) and associated IT infrastructure to support risk governance by providing a single-entry point for stakeholders needing information about nanomaterials, risk governance concepts, guidance documents, methods, and publicly accessible data.<\/p>\n<p>The NRGP ensures efficient guidance towards tailored information, enabling stakeholders to assess the <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_5bd815081aef5477a0b0a38216d0fcaa\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">exposure<\/span> and hazard of NMs and perform Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) assessments. The portal aims to link to and include various cloud platforms, decision support systems, tools, guidance, and databases in line with good governance objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The NRGP development process involved a co-creation approach, workshops, meetings, and consultations with stakeholders such as innovators, personnel responsible for occupational safety, service providers, nano-risk governance specialists, authorities, and regulators. The portal&#x2019;s current version provides an overview of available datasets, models, tools, guidance, frameworks, and platforms, and addresses the management and future enhancement of the NRGP. This effort promotes the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) and aligns with the European Commission&#x2019;s strategic vision for advanced materials (AdMa). The NRGP serves as a comprehensive resource to support the risk governance of nanomaterials, addressing the challenges faced by stakeholders in accessing and utilizing relevant information.<\/p>\n<p>&#xA0;<\/p>\n<p>To the paper:<\/p>\n<p>Isigonis, P. et al.
