The journal *Advanced Engineering Materials* has published the full text of its special issue titled “Digitalization and Materials Information.” This special issue brings together current articles on digitalization in materials science and engineering and was produced through a collaboration between the MaterialDigital, NFDI-MatWerk, and DIADEM initiatives.
The special issue highlights approaches and developments related to digital materials knowledge, data spaces, and the digital transformation across the entire materials lifecycle. It thus provides a comprehensive overview of current research and infrastructure activities in the field of digitalization in materials science.
